We all chose
to live in Pleasanton for a variety of reasons: an excellent
education system, a strong sense of community, friendly
neighborhoods, a sense of place and a thriving and vibrant
economy. For many, however, something is missing. For
Pleasanton to evolve to the next level, as a fully developed
community in its own right, there is a need for attention
to arts and cultural facilities to meet the needs of
the residents of today and for generations to come.
The Firehouse Arts Center will become a jewel of Pleasanton
and a source of pride for the entire community as well
as the anchor for a burgeoning cultural district within
downtown Pleasanton. Imagine walking up Division Street
from Main Street into a beautiful new arts center,
enjoying a performance, visiting the gallery or taking
part in an art class. As you leave the building towards
First Street, you will step onto a path winding its
way into an expanded Wayside Park. By serving as an
attractive link from Main Street through Wayside Park
onto First Street, the Firehouse Arts Center will be
stimulating the development and vitality of this entire
area.
