Carolyn Lord studied plein-air watercolor painting at Principia
College, IL, and studied under masters of "California Style"
watercolorists Rex Brandt, James Green, George Post, Millard
Sheets, Robert E. Wood and Milford Zornes. She's painted in
countries such as Brasil, England, Italy, Denmark, but the greatest
body of work is of observations and experiences in her home town,
Livermore, CA.
Carolyn Lord is a member of the California Art Club and the
National Watercolor Society. In 2009 she has exhibited in groups
shows at Tubac Center for the Arts, AZ and Deer Ridge Vineyards,
Livermore. In 2008 she exhibited at Triton Museum, Santa
Clara; Pasadena Museum of California Art; Haggin Museum, Stockton;
City of Brea Gallery; Santa Cruz Art League, Kimball Art Center,
Park City UT; Art Center at Old Forge, NY. Carolyn's paintings
are exhibited at the Nancy Dodds Gallery, Carmel; Fairmont Gallery,
Sonoma; Knowlton Gallery, Lodi; Bingham Gallery, Mt. Carmel,
UT.

how she paints and her unconventional use of brushes, painting
trips, figure and portrait work, her role in organizing a paint-out
